- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts (approximately 2 large breasts)

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 3 cups dry penne pasta (300 grams)
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms (about 6 - 7 mushrooms)
- 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
- 2 medium cloves garlic (minced)
- 3/4 cup milk*
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 3/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (plus a bit extra for garnish)**
- 4 ounces of cream cheese (half a brick, softened, cut into cubes)
- 1/2 Tablespoon diced fresh parsley (optional, to garnish)
