- 5 Honeycrisp ((or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced))
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice (, freshly squeezed)

- 1/6 cup caster sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter (, cut into small cubes)
- 2 tablespoons butter (, softened (for the mold))
- Square baking dish (, 9-inch / 22 cm)

👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 350 F (175°C).
- 2Butter a 9-inch (22 cm) square baking dish.
- 3In a bowl, combine the apples and lemon juice and place them at the bottom of the baking dish.
- 4In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the flour, brown sugar, caster sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves and salt.
- 5Using the flat beater, pulse twice to combine all the ingredients.
- 6Add the butter, a few cubes at a time, turning the stand mixer on between each addition of butter or until the butter is completely incorporated and the mixture turns into a kind of coarse breadcrumbs.
- 7Crumble this mixture over the apples.
- 8Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the surface is lightly browned.
- 9Serve hot with whipped cream.
