These chewy Apple Blondies are packed with warm spices, sweet apples and browned butter— it's a recipe you’ll come back to again and again.
📝 Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup butter (melted and cooled)
- 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 2 tsps vanilla extract
- 1 large large egg (room temperature)
- 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4-inch cubes)
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- 2In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter, stirring constantly. Continue cooking until it foams, turns golden brown, and smells nutty-- about 5-8 minutes. Remove from heat immediately and transfer to a bowl.
- 3In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
- 4In a large bowl, whisk together browned butter and brown sugar for about 2 minutes. Add egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- 5Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix just until combined. Fold in chopped apples.
- 6Spread thick batter evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 25–28 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 7Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
