Flaky, pan-seared salmon cooked in a sweet and tangy brown sugar glaze until a flavorful caramelized crust forms. This salmon is the perfect quick and tasty weeknight dinner idea!

📝 Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (fresh squeezed)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 4 6 to 8-ounce salmon fillets (skinless)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. 2Whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, and honey in a small mixing bowl until combined. Set the sauce aside.
  3. 3Season the salmon pieces on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat the olive oil in a 10-inch cast iron or oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the fish on one side until a golden crust forms, about 3 to 4 minutes. Flip the fish and cook for 2 to 3 more minutes.
  4. 4Pour the brown sugar mixture over the fish and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook the fish for an additional 5-7 minutes for medium-well.
  5. 5Transfer the salmon to a serving dish and drizzle with the sauce from the skillet. Garnish with chopped parsley or scallions and lemon wedges. Enjoy!
