Learn how to make the most basic, all purpose Easy Pasta Sauce for pastas and pizzas. Only takes 45 minutes, is one pan and you'll be left with the most flavorful Italian red sauce!

📝 Ingredients

  • 8 medium Tomatoes (roughly diced)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped Garlic
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Puree or Passata (store bought)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning Mix (dried)
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Puree the fresh tomatoes in a blender and set aside.
  2. 2Saute: Heat oil in a saucepan, and add garlic. Saute for a minute on low heat till the garlic fragrant, making sure not to brown it. Add onions and saute till translucent.
  3. 3Cook Tomatoes: Add blended tomatoes, store bought tomato puree, italian seasoning, salt and sugar. Bring this to a bowl and simmer for 20-25 minutes till the sauce has reduced by 1/3 and thickened.
  4. 4Store: Use the sauce to toss pasta (see video above for instructions) or refrigerate it for up to 5 days in an airtight container. You can also freeze the sauce for up to 6 months in a freezer friendly container.
