Cooking a juicy and crispy whole chicken has never been easier! This air fryer whole chicken recipe uses a simple marinade to make an effortlessly easy whole chicken, all in just one hour.
📝 Ingredients
- 3 1/2 to 4 lb whole chicken (giblets removed and patted dry)
- 2 teaspoons salt ((1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon per lb of chicken))
- 3 1/2 teaspoons mediterranean chicken seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Place the whole chicken on a large tray and make sure it is patted dry really well, from the inside as well as the outside and that the giblets have been removed.
- 2In a small bowl, mix together the salt, chicken seasoning and the olive oil to create a paste. Coat the entire chicken with the seasoning paste, ensuring to also marinate the inside of the chicken.
- 3Place the chicken breast side down in the air fryer basket and air fry at 350F for 30 minutes.
- 4Flip the chicken breast side up and continue to air fry at 350F for 20 more minutes.
- 5Use a meat thermometer to check that the thickest part of the breast is at least 165F. If you have a larger chicken, you may need to air fry for an additional 10 minutes. Allow the chicken to rest for 10 minutes, inside the air fryer so it stays hot.
- 6Serve along with a side salad, potatoes or rice.
