These apple pecan bites are made with a sweet cream cheese mixture with apples and pecans, coated in a crispy graham cracker mixture, deep fried to golden perfection, rolled in cinnamon and sugar, and drizzled with caramel sauce. Absolutely delicious!
📝 Ingredients
- (2) 8 ounce cream cheese
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups Granny Smith apples, (finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs, (crushed)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1-2 cups vegetable oil, (for frying)
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Caramel sauce, (for drizzle)
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1--- Apple Pecan Mixture ---
- 2In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until it’s nice and fluffy, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- 3Stir in apples and pecans. Mix until combined.
- 4Roll into bite-size balls. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 5Place in the freezer and flash freeze for 30-40 minutes.
- 6In a large frying pan, heat oil over medium heat.
- 7--- Graham Cracker Mixture ---
- 8In a shallow container, whisk together graham cracker crumbs and breadcrumbs.
- 9Using another shallow container, whisk the eggs and heavy cream together.
- 10Roll each bite into the egg mixture, then into the graham cracker crumb mixture, and make sure they are coated well.
- 11Add a few at a time into the hot oil and fry until golden on all sides.
- 12Remove with a slotted spoon and place poppers on a plate lined with paper towels. Let cool for a few minutes.
