Balsamic Roasted Figs and Whipped Goat Cheese Toast is the ultimate "effortless gourmet" dish. Perfect for a party appetizer or a simple brunch.

📝 Ingredients

  • 4 - 5 fresh figs, cut into halves
  • 200 gram goat cheese
  • 4 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • a pinch of sea salt
  • crushed black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • fine chopped parsley or basil
  • Sourdough bread slices

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Heat oil in a cast iron skillet. Arrange the figs, sprinkle a pinch of salt, and start roasting them. As soon the figs start releasing their natural sugar, drizzle balsamic vinegar and let is sizzle for a 2 – 3 minutes. Turn off the heat.
  2. 2While the figs are roasting, place the goat cheese, lemon zest, and olive oil in a small bowl or a food processor. Beat the mixture until it’s light, airy, and easy to spread.
  3. 3Brush your bread slices with olive oil and toast them in a pan.
  4. 4Spread a generous layer of whipped goat cheese onto the warm toast.Top with 3-4 roasted fig halves. Drizzle the remaining balsamic syrup from the baking dish along with honey over the top.
