Mix up a sweet and tangy Strawberry Margarita at home - perfect for sipping on a hot summer day or celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Cheers!
📝 Ingredients
- 5 whole sliced strawberries (about 1/2 cup)
- 1 ounce water
- 3 cups ice, divided
- 6 ounces 100% agave tequila Blanco
- 2 ounces triple sec
- 3 ounces fresh lime juice (from about 3 limes)
- 2 tablespoons margarita salt or kosher salt
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1--- To make the strawberry simple syrup: ---
- 2First, give your strawberries a good wash, and then gently pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 3Next, cut off the stems and slice up the strawberries into small pieces, and set them aside.
- 4In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add the strawberries, sugar, and water, and stir together.
- 5Cook for 5 minutes or until the strawberries are softened.
- 6Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor, and pulse until smooth. Alternatively, use an immersion blender.
- 7Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any pulp.
- 8--- To assemble the strawberry margarita: ---
- 9Add the margarita salt to a small plate.
- 10Rub the rim of your glass with a used lime wedge, then dip the rim of the glass in the salt.
- 11Fill a shaker (or mason jar or coffee cup) with 2 cups of ice, tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and strawberry syrup.
- 12Cover and shake vigorously.
- 13Pour the mixture over the remaining ice to serve on the rocks.
- 14For a finishing touch, garnish with a fresh strawberry or a slice of lime.
