Bacon Wrapped Asparagus is made with fresh asparagus, thin-cut bacon, and a sprinkle of garlic, salt, and pepper. It’s salty, crispy, and takes basic asparagus up a notch.
📝 Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon ((ideally not thick cut))
- 1 lb fresh asparagus ((washed, dried, and trimmed) about 16 stalks)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ⅛ teaspoon pepper
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Lay bacon flat on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes until nearly firm (this is optional, but makes it a lot easier to slice!).
- 2Preheat the oven to 425℉.
- 3Remove bacon from the freezer and slice lengthwise into 3 strips each. They will thaw in minutes and then you can continue with the recipe.
- 4Wrap a piece of bacon around each piece of asparagus -- you can do this as tightly or as loosely as you like, or use more than one strip as necessary.
- 5Place back on the baking sheet and continue until each stalk is wrapped.
- 6Combine the salt, garlic powder and pepper and sprinkle over asparagus.
- 7Bake for about 20 minutes, turning half way, until the bacon is browned and crisp. Serve.
