Shrimp Scampi

Shrimp Scampi ist ein klassisches italienisch-amerikanisches Gericht mit Garnelen, die in einer Sauce aus Butter, Weißwein und Knoblauch angebraten werden. Das Gericht wird meist mit Pasta serviert, schmeckt aber auch mit Reis oder knusprigem Brot, das die aromatische Sauce aufnimmt.

- 3 to 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup dry white wine ( or broth)
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt (or add to taste)
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1-1/2 pounds large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1/4 cup parsley (chopped )
- 2 tablespoons Freshly squeezed lemon juice

Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel and set aside.

Melt butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Then add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant it begins to brown lightly on the edges.

Stir in the white wine or broth, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Increase the heat to high and boil the wine until it reduces by half, about two minutes.

Add the shrimp and cook until just pink, approximately 2 to 4 minutes.

Add the parsley and lemon juice. Stir and remove from heat.
