Zitronen-Basilikum-Reis

Dieser einfache Zitronen-Basilikum-Reis steckt dank Zitronensaft, frischem Basilikum und Butter voller frischer, spritziger Aromen. Genieße eine unkomplizierte Beilage, die zu deinen Lieblingsproteinen wie Hähnchen, Fisch und vielem mehr passt!
Zutaten
- 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 shallot (finely diced)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 cups chicken stock (or vegetable broth)
- 1 cup jasmine rice (or other long grain white rice)
- 2 lemons (zest and juice)
- 1/4 cup minced fresh basil (plus more for garnish)
Zubereitung

saute: In a medium saucepan, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the shallot and garlic. Saute for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently.

cook: Add the broth and bring to a boil. Add the rice and salt (see note below). Cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 20 minutes or according to package directions.

serve: Remove the rice from the heat. Allow to sit covered for 5 more minutes. Transfer rice to a bowl. Fluff with a fork. Stir in the lemon juice and zest, and basil. Salt and pepper to taste.
