The Old Fashioned is a timeless cocktail you can make at home in just a few minutes. With rye whisky or bourbon, sugar and Angostura bitters, you conjure an elegant, slightly syrupy drink right in your glass.
Ingrédients

- 1 sugar cube or 10 ml sugar syrup
- 3 to 5 dashes of Angostura bitters
- A few large ice cubes
- Garnish: an orange slice / orange zest
Préparation
- 1
1. Start with the sugar cube or sugar syrup in the centre of the glass. 2. Add the drops of Angostura bitters and just a tiny splash of orange juice (watch out for the pips). 3. Stir until all the ingredients are combined. Then add the ice and the whisky: the choice is entirely yours, but a bourbon or rye whisky is the classic pairing.4. Slowly stir in circles with the bar spoon. This allows a little water to blend into the drink, creating a wonderful, slightly syrupy texture. 5. Garnish with a piece of orange zest and cheers!
