Mary Berry's Stuffed Marrow
A classic British dish featuring tender marrow stuffed with a savory beef and rice filling, baked to perfection.
Ingrédients
- 1 large marrow, about 1.5 kg
- 250 g minced beef
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 400 g can chopped tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 50 g grated cheese

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

Cut the marrow in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.

In a pan, cook the minced beef until browned.

Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.

Stir in cooked rice, chopped tomatoes, tomato purée, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.

Fill the marrow halves with the beef and rice mixture.

Place stuffed marrow halves in a baking dish and cover with foil.

Bake for 45 minutes, then uncover and sprinkle with grated cheese.

Bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden.
