Le tofu soyeux remplace les produits laitiers dans ce smoothie tropical à la mangue, auquel il apporte des protéines végétales et une texture veloutée qui se marie à merveille avec la mangue.

Ingrédients

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 cup silken tofu
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime juice

Préparation

  1. 1

Combine the orange juice, water, and silken tofu in the blender first and blend for about 15 seconds until the tofu has broken down and the mixture looks uniform. Add the frozen mango and lime juice, then blend again on high until smooth and thick.

  2. 2

Silken tofu takes the place of yogurt here, contributing plant-based protein while staying completely neutral in flavor — it lets the mango shine instead of competing with it. It also gives the smoothie a silkier, lighter body than dairy-based versions.

  3. 3

Leftover silken tofu freezes well in small portions, so if your block is larger than a package's worth, freeze the rest in an ice cube tray for the next batch. If you'd rather not use soy, firm silken tofu can be swapped for an equal amount of plain kefir with a similar protein boost.
