Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) Calculator
A simple measure of body fat distribution and health risk. Keep your waist less than half your height.
WHtR Guide
What is WHtR?
Waist-to-Height Ratio divides your waist circumference by your height. It's a better predictor of health risks than BMI alone because it accounts for abdominal fat.
WHtR Categories
- Below 0.4: Underweight/slim
- 0.4 - 0.5: Healthy range ✓
- 0.5 - 0.54: Overweight
- 0.54 - 0.58: Very overweight
- Above 0.58: Severely overweight
The Golden Rule
"Keep your waist to less than half your height"
This simple guideline applies to men, women, and children of all ethnicities.
Why WHtR?
Central obesity (fat around the middle) is linked to higher risk of heart disease, diabetes, and other conditions. WHtR captures this better than BMI.
