Ingredientes
- 1 (6–8 ounce) wheel of brie cheese, chilled
- 1/3–1/2 cup whole berry cranberry chutney or sauce, at room temperature
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional, if you want a touch of sweetness)
- Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Preparación
- 1
Preheat: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and place oven rack in the center position.
- 2
Prepare the brie: Place the brie on a piece of parchment paper about twice its size and set on a baking sheet or in a baking dish. Lightly score the top of the rind (just enough to scratch the surface) in a crisscross pattern to help the cheese melt evenly (optional, but satisfying).
- 3
Toast the nuts (optional): Heat a small skillet over medium on the stovetop. Once hot, add the nuts and toast until fragrant, about 2–3 minutes, shaking often and watching carefully to prevent burning. Remove to a plate or bowl.
- 4
Deck the brie: Spoon cranberry chutney or sauce over the top of the brie. Sprinkle with nuts if using, and drizzle with honey or maple syrup to bring a beautiful balance of sweetness to the tart cranberries and salty, creamy cheese (optional).
- 5
Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on the size of your brie, until the cheese is soft and gooey but not collapsing (keep an eye on it—brie melts fast). Test doneness by gently nudging the side with the back of a spoon; it should feel soft and give slightly. If you want extra confirmation, poke the side with a toothpick—if it slides in easily and the center feels melty, it's done.
- 6
Rest and serve: Let the brie rest for 1–2 minutes. Transfer (using the parchment) to a platter or charcuterie board. Set out a cheese knife or spreader with your dippers nearby. Slice into the side to let the gooey center spill out and give guests permission to dig in.
